Buzz the Pug

Now tell me, how could you not love this face!!!  He has completely stolen my heart like no dog ever has.  Sorry, Bo & Woody, I do love you guys too, but until you have owned a Pug you have not really lived!!  He is 7 months old and such a little goof ball.  He loves to run circle eights around the house which we call the Pug scoot which is just one of the funniest things I have ever seen.  A house is not a home without at least one 4 legged friend!

Spring Master Bedroom update

So here is my Master Bedroom.  Today I updated my duvet cover thanks to my amazing Mom!  If you ever thought you couldn't afford designer bedding think again!  I buy flat sheets, these are Ralph Lauren 500 ct sateen cotton.  You sew them together and put in a duvet zipper on the side and you have a designer duvet cover for a fraction of the cost of buying the duvet cover already made.  The underside is white and I saved that flat sheet from a white sheet set I received as a Christmas gift and then I bought the RL flat sheet on Ebay for $40.  My Mom sews for free so I save there.

Above is the view of the window seat we put in after we moved.  Now you tell me what else would you put in that space?  It was crying out for a window seat!  My Pug Buzz loves to sit there and bark at the birds and chew on the little stuffed duck that Bob brought home for me one day.

Hutch Updated

Here is my cabinet I bought for a steal!  Solid wood, it was painted a terrible navy blue with pegs on the top to hang mugs. I painted it white, distressed it, added vintage glass knobs and furniture appliques.  Now you have a beautiful Shabby Chic one of kind hutch.

I painted the inside Jamaican Aqua for a little shock of colour when I am listening to music.

Sitting Room

Here is a picture of our sitting room.  I have added a few things here lately and had a few fun projects.  In the left hand corner you see a fabulous old barn ladder re-painted in red - a perfect place to hang my small quilt collection.  I also dug up that old door in the right hand corner from our barn last week.  I love the crackled old white paint.  I also bought the bird cage hanging in the centre at a local home decor store for a steal and painted it white.  I will show you more views of this room in the future, but for now I must go as my 15 year old daughter wants the computer!

Dining Room

I am going to take you through my house room by room and what better room to start with than the dining room!  We spend so much of our time in here eating, spending family time together, working on the computer and my favourite - watching the birds out our patio doors!  The white hutch you see on the left was a recent project I undertook and am very happy with the outcome.  I will tell you more about it in a future post highlighting this cabinet.  Underneath picture features a beautiful hutch I also bought second hand.  I have a project up my sleeve for that one also to be featured soon!

Farmhouse

Hello, my name is Terri.  Here is the farmhouse that my husband, Bob, and I purchased in July, 2011.  This farmhouse is located on 10 acres in the southern Manitoba prairie's surrounded by bush and lush farmland.  The house was moved to this spot in 1996 when it was put on a new foundation and redone.  We bought it from friends of ours who put in all the hard work to make it a wonderful family home again.  And I enjoy every minute of decorating this house that has become our home.  We share this home with our 3 children, 2 teenage daughters and a son, and 3 dogs.
